Something from nothing at all

The Something From Nothing Players put on their annual improv show looking to entertain. The Something From Nothing Players is the company class of actors and performers directed by Tabatha Babcock. Every year the company class puts on this improvisation show to raise money for the theater and entertain their supporters.
The Players bring the tradition of the name on stage with them as they perform in front of the audience.

“The name has been passed down for that class for ages,” Company Teacher Tabatha Babcock said.

This show brought in more people than in past years. In the show the players act out different games where they have to create funny and witty responses to their fellow players. Audience participation is a big part of the show. In some games a couple people form the audience were selected to participate. The players also get some of their ideas from the audience which helps to keep the audience involved.

The attendance not only helps the cause of the theater, but it also helps out the players, giving them energy to draw from.

“I think we had a good audience,” Junior Andi Replogle said. “It helps when the audience interacts and is into it. It gives the actors more energy.”

Members of the audience and Players alike feel this show was one of the better improv shows in awhile.

“I cried from laughing, it was really funny,” Junior Alex Stacey said.

And a few players feel the same way.

“It was one of the best shows we had in years,” junior Kyron Woods said.
The show is generally a one time a year occasion, but with this year’s show being considered a success, a possible encore could be in the future. Senior Eric Sokolaski, and a member of the Something From Nothing Players, said he would like to put on a second show.

When asked about the possibility of an encore show Babcock said she hadn’t thought about it, but it might work. Now with a second show possibly on the horizon, keep an ear out, the Something From Nothing Players could be returning to the stage later this year.
