“Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins, the second book in “The Hunger Games” trilogy, is just as wonderful as the first book, “The Hunger Games”, and is highly recommended to anyone that likes a great book. It continues to tell the exciting and adventure filled story of the main character of the series, Katniss Everdeen. Collins has a fantastic writing ability that communicates well with the reader and the characters are very well developed. The many characters in the book behave and act like real people in everyday life, they don’t seem fake or created. The compelling storyline makes the book hard to put down once the reader begins. Also, the characters show very strong and realistic emotions on every page. The story draws the reader into the very center of the action starting with the very first chapter. Another good point is that at the beginning of the book, it does not drone on about events that happened in the previous book, like many other books in a series do.

Like the first book, it is very well written and makes sense.  However, “Catching Fire” also has some bad points. One of the negative aspects is that it goes over the conflict of the book multiple times in a small amount of time. The main character discusses her problem with herself and many of the other characters more often then necessary. Also, it goes slowly at first and may seem boring at the beginning for a reader who likes a lot of action.

The book, “Catching Fire”, earns an impressive rating of five out of five stars. It is a great book for everyone to read. People who like action, romance, politics and adventure would enjoy this book. It will not disappoint people looking for a fantastic book to pass their time with.

'Catching Fire' caught great review, 9.3 out of 10 based on 3 ratings
