Belton High School Band and Belton Singers went to the 25th anniversary of Research Belton Hospital August 21. They performed at a luncheon to honor the occasion.

Sophomore Cody Hart said preparing for the performance took little time and he learned the music easily.

“I think we had a fair amount of time to be prepared and I’m glad to be here,” Hart said.

The Belton Singers performed first and sang the Star Spangled Banner while employees ate. Sophomore Kasea Price said she liked singing the Star Spangled Banner as separate sections.

“My favorite part was the way the Star Spangled Banner was split into four parts,” Price said.

Research Belton Hospital provided food for the band and the choir. The Belton Singers got to eat first. Sophomore Geoff Grigg said going to the anniversary wasn’t that fun.

“I didn’t like just standing there most of the time,” Grigg said. “We should have played more.”

Belton Band performed as the choir ate their lunch. The band played the fight song and ”A Hard Day’s Night”. Sophomore Cody Hart said he had fun participating in the performance and that it went pretty well.

“I’m honored to be representing Belton High School at this event,” Hart said.

Sophomore Kasea Price said serving in the community shows that students take pride in Belton High School.

“We show what Belton High School is about and that it has other things than just academics,” Price said, “but it has things that kids can express themselves.”
