Lip dub is a hit among students

As a way to get more school spirit, the staff of WBHS decided to have a lip dub video. The idea came when senior editor-in-chief Nick Wright did some research online and found two schools, Shorecrest High and Shorewood High, who participated in a “dub-off” competition. Details like which song and what they will do for the video have not been decided yet. They just know that they want to do a lip dub video for the whole school to take part in.
The lip dub still needs to be approved and they want the students of BHS to support them. The video is supposed to be something fun that the student body can all do together. The whole school is invited to participate in this event. It is expected to take multiple weekends to complete the video and it will be done in April. The songs they are looking at for the lip dub are “That’s Not My Name” by the Ting Tings, “It’s the End of the World as We Know It” by R.E.M.,”Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves,” Get Up Off that Thing” by James Brown or “Blue” by Eiffel 65. Students can vote for any of these songs on the Cutlass polls. For the video to be a success, there has to be as many students as possible. Hopefully, the lip dub will catch the attention of the community and maybe even other communities and schools.
This lip dub is a good idea; it will give the students of BHS a chance to work together and have fun at the same time. School spirit is one thing that is lacking and hopefully this will boost the school spirit here. This could be beneficial to the school and it will cost the school very little, aside for costs of some props. However, students are able to bring their own props to reduce the amount of money that will be spent.
The video will hopefully get the community to support BHS more. Not only will this video catch the attention of the Belton community, but it is very possible that BHS could be recognized by a wider variety of communities and people. Wouldn’t anyone want BHS to be recognized as a school that is different and brings their students together in creative ways? That is exactly what this video is about, and it’s a fun project that the whole student body is welcome to be a part of. Teachers may also decide they want to be in the video.
Many BHS students are excited for this and they support making the lip dub video. It is a creative way to bring both students and teachers closer together while building up the school spirit. If  BHS decides to do this, it could really benefit the school and the students in it. It is a fantastic idea that will give students a chance to leave their prints on BHS and it will allow the seniors for this year to leave with a bang.
