Broken promise, broken heart

What do promises and hearts have in common? They’re meant to be kept but always end up broken. A promise can make or break every relationship anyone ever has.

A friendship can fall apart because of something as simple as a broken promise. Friendships rely heavily on trust. If there isn’t any trust that a friend will keep their word, then there really isn’t a friendship at all. According to Websters Dictionary a promise is defined as “a declaration or assurance that one will do a particular thing or that guarantees that a particular thing will happen.”

Some friends break plans to hang out with a boyfriend or girlfriend and don’t see that the odds that their relationship will last past high school aren’t very high. The more plans that break, the more friends get lost until there isn’t anyone left.

When a promise breaks between a boss and a co-worker, it could result in the loss of a job. When someone breaks their word, they lose some of their integrity.

There’s easy steps that anyone can take to diminish the amount of times they break a promise. Think about the promise, will the assurance prove easily attainable? Who’s the promise to? When people think about what they’re going to say before they say it, they can decide whether or not it’s in their power to give their word.

Consider what people can and can’t do. Don’t promise something outrageous that there isn’t anytime for. If anyone promises anything, they should make sure that they can fulfill the promise with little to no complication.

Take promises seriously, when anyone makes an assurance it should happen without a doubt. If it’s impossible to keep a promise, then don’t make it. Also, try not to get any one’s hopes up about possible plans that anyone can easily forget.

Make an effort to keep promises to everyone. Even when someone makes a promise to themselves, they should do everything in their power to make it come true. Make an effort to keep relationships together and have as little drama as possible.

Keeping a promise is a small little thing that seems easy to do, but isn’t easy to practice. Reputations and a persons integrity either make and break when they give their word. Promises; they’re easy to make and can prove easy to keep when everyone involved does what they can to make it happen.
