Belton girls soccer gets embarrassed at home

The Pirates girls soccer team falls to the Lee’s Summit West Titans by a score of 10-0 mercy rule stopping the game with 11 minutes still remaining in the game on Tuesday, the 11th on their home turf.
 
The Pirates allowed Titans Jaycie Johnson to score on them 4 times as goalie Lauren Nesmith had a very tough time she scored twice in the first half giving them a 3-0 lead by halftime opening the second half Johnson would score 2 back-to-back goals under within 13 minutes.
 
The Pirates started the game with 5 of the starters sitting on the bench due to injuries having a lot of underclassman having to come up big and try to lead the team to a victory over the tough team of Lee’s Summit West Titans.
 
The Pirates came up with their sixth injured player of the year as junior Kendra Bishop re-injured her knee when she tried to turn 180-degrees. Her momentum was going forward as she to quickly turn around in order to get to the ball and found herself on the turf for a good 5-10 minutes before getting helped off the field 4 minutes into the second half.
 
Nesmith came up big in the game despite the 10 goals as she blocked about twice as much as she allowed. Nesmith was by far the player of the game for the Pirates, she spent a lot of time under pressure because of the injuries and the new players on the field couldn’t seem to stop the Titans offense.
 
The Pirates seemed very nervous most of their passes were stolen and they couldn’t get many shots off. They played most of the game on their side of the field playing defense. The first
 
Sophomore Leigha Clark was the closest to scoring for the Pirates as her shot was on target but hit the top of the goal post.
 
The pirates finish off their season Thursday night against a very tough team as they play the Raytown Bluejays.
