Editor in Chief Andrea Sessions


Senior Andrea Sessions, has been on the newspaper staff for three years. She rejoined the staff  because she is looking forward to making the newspaper better and more intriguing for sudents to enjoy and it gives her a little envolvement in the school. A&E reviews are the most enjoyable for her to write because she feels they interest students the most. Outside of school, Sessions loves to shop, take/edit pictures and watch movies. After graduation, she intends to take a road trip, travel and go to college. She wants to study business and photography but has not decided where she wants to go yet.

Editor in Chief Kathryn Waugh

Senior Kathryn Waugh has been on the newspaper staff for three years. She rejoined because she loves going to a class where she can write while enjoying everyone else on staff. She loves to write opinion stories because she has an opinion about everything and says it’s important to let it out. She is also involved in A+, NHS and band. Outside of school she enjoys listening to music, drawing/painting and hanging out with friends. After graduation, she wants to go on to study psychology or speech pathology in college. She is  going to Longview with A+ and than plans to transfer to UMKC.

Opinion Editor Emily Evans

Junior Emily Evans is on the staff for her second year. She rejoined because she liked how things went last year and she likes the teacher. She likes writing Student Life and Opinion stories. Evans is also involved in cheerleading, soccer and FCA. Outside of school she enjoys spending time just driving around and singing in her car out loud. She hasn’t decided yet, but she is considering going to college to become a nurse.

Student Life Editor Chloe Jackson

Senior Chloe Jackson first joined the staff three years ago. She returned because “Mr.Carter is super cool” and she wants to improve her story writing. She enjoys writing for Student Life because of all the interesting things she learns about students and what they are doing. Jackson is Thespian President and GSA co-president, and is involved in NHS and A+. Outside of school, Jackson likes to volunteer, read, cook vegan foods, research, travel, empower women and spread the word about human and animal rights issues. After graduation, she plans to volunteer with street children in Ecuador, study abroad, and join the peace corp to work for a nonprofit organization. She plans to go to college, but is not sure where yet, to study women’s & gender studies, sociology, and/or international studies with an emphasis on peace.

Sports Editor Anthony Biondo

Senior Anthony Biondo has joined the staff for the first time to try something new. He is also on the baseball team and in B-club. Hanging with his friends and playing baseball are his most favorite things to do. After graduation, he wants to play baseball at a four year college. He is considering Rockhurst and Avila.

Sophomore Haley Marconett is gaining her first-year experience on the staff. She joined due to her love for writing and editing. She is also on the swim team and spends a lot of her time out of school swimming. She eventually wants to go on to study English to become a book editor or high school English teacher.

A&E Editor Caitlyn Nickerson

Junior Caitlyn Nickerson has rejoined the staff for her second year due to the fun she had last year and her love for writing. She is looking forward to making the website better this year than it has been in the past. Nickerson mostly enjoys writing book reviews and opinion stories. She is also a member of Stucco, Prom committee and Blood Drive. Outside of school, she likes to read, write, draw and text. She hopes to study journalism and/or teaching in her future.

Senior Naomi Ellifritt has been on the newspaper staff for three years. She joined with the intention to become a photo journalist after high school. Her plans have changed, but the experience of the class is still one she enjoys. She typically writes Student Life and A&E stories. Outside of school, she spends a lot of time working, taking and editing pictures and reading. After graduation, she is engaged to be married and plans to study interior design and photography in college. She wants to go to TCU or SCAD, than will go on to become an entrepreneur photographer.

Senior Brittany Rogoff is on the staff for her first year. She looks forward to the new experience and old fashioned work. She wants to improve her writing ability and make new friends. Rogoff is also in Anime club and debate. Outside of school,  she likes to blog, read Fanfiction, watch Japanese drama and play Zelda. After graduation she wants to go to UMKC and study forensic psychology.
