New Years resolutions are a big part of the celebration of the new year and are very popular around BHS. Many resolutions that people create are to make them better people and enrich their lives.
The most popular resolutions that people make are to quit smoking, lose weight or spend more time with their family. There are many other forms around BHS. Many seniors around the school have odd resolutions such as to stop dating jerks, drink more milk or apply for scholarships.
Senior Callie Porter said her resolution was to stop cussing as much. She said she used to cuss way too much.
“It’s hard to not cuss. I stubbed my toe and that was the first of many times that I will break that,” Porter said. “I am just going to start cussing less I can’t completely stop”
Senior Eric Sokolaski has a creative resolution, to get active and apply for more scholarships, so he can go to college.
“I have kind of been behind with that and this will help” Sokolaski said.
Senior Alex McClain would like to grow a red beard and Senior Christina Eastland had a resolution to drink more milk, which may seem rather weird.
“Not just any beard, an incredible one,” McClain said.
“I want to drink more milk so I will grow taller,” Eastland said.
Ashley Cunningham has a very serious resolution that involves her dating life. All of her friends agreed that the resolution she made was greatly needed.
“Of course I want to stay in shape, but I also am going to stop dating jerks,” Cunningham said.
The most popular resolution that was heard around the school was to stop smoking, but the students who responded with that asked to remain unanimous.
92 percent of New Years resolutions are not kept anyway. Many BHS students admitted to already breaking their resolutions, but they said that they will continue to try to follow them. Hopefully this year will be the year that the resolutions are kept and students can continue to enrich their lives. BHS students are not your normal people so it will be interesting to see how well they keep their resolutions.
